The Commitment - A Propellant To Purposeful Living

"Many are called but few get there. And those who get there in the face of monumental bottlenecks in the end, reap the rewards for their commitment."

We all have dreams, aspirations, and goals in life, and yes, our ideals and desires dictates that we do all we can to ensure that they are actualised. But, what you find very often is that people can move mountains merely by the many unrealistic fantasies buried deep in the rollercoaster of imaginations in the mind. The one thing that we learn from this is that the mind is powerful beyond our carnal comprehension. That said, you can only achieve to heights that you are committed to, and not how hard or however long you work at it.

Many ingenious dreams and ideas have often been prematurely interrupted and turned into dust and  now live six feet deep in the ground, simply because the dreamer only accomplished the contents of their dreams by allowing the limitations of their imaginations to overpower their capacity to surmount all foreseeable complexities and strides toward actualisation. The truth of the matter is that you cannot achieve anything if you are not doggedly and wholeheartedly committed to seeing it through to fruition. As the saying goes, that, "Your attitude will determine your altitude." The attitude alluded to in this quote is your commitment, and how well you can sustain it even when under unbearable pressure.

Are you committed enough to that which you yearn for out of life (that business, that idea, that career, or that change you relish or are currently working on)? If you can honestly answer yes to these questions, then you've only just activated the will-power that will help you to actualisation. You see, we all have a thing or two that we would like to accomplish to enhance our economic and social standing in life, and with each passing day comes a renewed sense of duty for us to want to make things happen. The commitment you dedicate to your ideas, dreams or anything else you want to have done is the propellant that will help put them on the path to reality.

Seven Powerful Tips to Help You Become More Committed

  1. Understand the constituents and essence of your vision, ideas or dream.
  2. Create an action plan and have a strategy.
  3. Envision the light at the end of the tunnel.
  4. Ignore all negative assertions from all external factors.
  5. Align yourself with the right network of individuals to aid your vision.
  6. Believe that all things are achievable.
  7. Treat all obstacles as an opportunity to improve.

Today, I am encouraging you to do the necessary and get committed to that idea, that dream and your purpose in life. Think of it this way, the company you are working for at the moment requires you to dedicate your undivided attention to furthering the vision they have laid out for the year. So, you invest so much time to get things done, working 9 to 5 pm every single day. Upon getting home, you are totally exhausted, and before you are able to think of anything creative, the day is far spent and it is time to sleep. No dreamer can achieve anything this way. Instead of dedicating so much time to aid your boss's dream, take that bold step now and change your character to begin to work and invest more time towards achieving your true purpose in life.
