This
is a topic that has been in my mind for a while now, and I don't know why. But,
as I journey through this chaos, called, life, it doesn't take much to begin comprehending
the true essence of our individual and collective struggles to succeed in all
our endeavours.
Well,
have you ever pondered on the true definition of life, Itself? Many people
simply exist from day-to-day, and you can tell from their mannerism and way of
life. Just like in a car assembly line, where every component plays a key role
in putting together the end product. Similarly, in life, we all have a mission
to fulfil on our way to obtaining true fulfilment and eventual happiness.
Sad,
but true, not many of us appreciate the need to play our part in order to get
to our place of destiny. Whether you believe it or not, "we are sole beneficiaries of the actions and
inactions of our ancestors."
If
they never remained persistent in their quest to achieving the plethora of
technological advances, and developments we now enjoy, then we wouldn't enjoy
the standard of life we experience today, especially, in the western world. Today,
in many places in Africa, and the Caribbean, the inactions of their ancestors left
a trail of penury, under-development, slavery mentality, and a sense of inferiority
among the inhabitants. Things don't have to be this way, and one that needs to
change.
If
you want to be anything in life, then begin to work on the constituents of your
mind and thought processes. Quitters imbibe the belief that they, "never do, won't do and can't do."
All these are toxic thoughts, and we must be purged of them. Nobody knows you,
like you know yourself. Therefore, the only person with the capacity to
transform your thoughts is you. "The
state of your health and wellbeing (both mental and physical) is connected to
your thoughts." Sometimes, in the morning I wake up not feeling like
doing much, but, instead blame it on the weather or make some hilarious excuse.
This is mental laziness, and a common trait in a potential quitter.
Want
to be more than you are at the moment and get more out of life, then make up
your mind to go from a quitter to a winner. The latter is a doer, game-changer
and pioneer, even in adverse, ominous and challenging circumstances. So, develop
a mind of steel, one that is impenetrable by those who are prolific denigrators.
Know your worth, capabilities, and redact limitations from your mental
dictionary.
Quitters
hate winners, which is a common trait among the former. Instead of loathing
those who are successful in their respective fields and businesses, try to find
out what makes them tick and get to where they are today. That's how you get
rid of the quitting trait.
